This morning we had a lie in as Alladin didn’t want to leave until 9am. This was because he didn’t want to enter the Serengeti until lunchtime as entering earlier would make it a rush to exit the Serengeti on our last day (permits being issued on a 24 hour basis).
The drive took just under 4 hours, a lot of it on rough roads but there is now a part that is tarmac. We entered at Kleins Gate which is far smaller than Naabi Hill. We had our lunch here before doing a game drive ending up at our camp.
Notable sightings were a pair of cheetahs, topi with young, some different birds and of course elephants. We also saw a hyaena and a pair of ostriches.
We arrived at the Tanzania Bush Camp North late afternoon and were welcomed with a cold towel and juice and then shown to our tent. We were in Tent No.1 Kiboko (Hippo).
We have stayed at the Bush Camps before in Ndutu and the Central Serengeti and really like them. They are not high end luxury but perfectly luxurious enough for us and the staff are always very friendly.
We were booked in here for 4 nights so unpacked and then had a shower with plenty of hot water.
Later we went down to the lounge tent for a drink and then met Alladin for dinner. The barman had a surprisingly good selection of wines and was more than happy to keep any unfinished bottles for us until the next day.
