Tarangire National Park - Day 1

We were up bright and early and having enjoyed a lovely breakfast, were ready to meet Alladin our safari guide at 8am. We have done a couple of previous safaris with Alladin so he is now a good friend.

The drive to Tarangire National Park took about 2.5 hours so we were at the gate by mid morning.

We quickly saw lots of wildlife and I am not going to document everything we saw every day (that would be a long list!!) but I will put in some of our favourite photos.

We had lunch at one of the picnic sites. After which we had our first of many lion and elephant sightings. We also saw a leopard in a tree a long way off (not worth a photo). A great start to our safari.

By about 5.45 we arrived at Ang’ata Camp where we were staying for the next 3 nights. We were welcomed with fruit juice and shown to our large tent.

We had showers before meeting Alladin for dinner. The food was good and we were back in our room by about 9pm. A great first day.
